Daniel LaFrance, the talented artist whose work on CARRIER you’ve been watching here on this very blog, has placed as one of the 10 finalists in Comic Book Idol*! He and the other finalists will receive assignments to complete, then you the reader have the opportunity to vote. So please do! Go register at the ComicBookResources.com boards, then go to the Comic Book Idol forum to place your vote. There’s nothing to vote on yet, but there will be soon. I’ll let you know when. In the meantime, you can register and be ready. And keep an eye on the CBI blog for the latest news on the contest.
*For those of you that know some of my comics history, don’t confuse this contest with the Small Press Idol that I competed in a while back. This is a higher profile affair and a much more prestigious event.
(I know some of you are wondering where today’s flash fiction is, this being Friday and all. I’m afraid I’m simply too tired to write one tonight, so this week it will see Flash Fiction Saturday instead. Think of it as a special holiday.)

Are you going to compete in this one? Do you know which comic you will submit?
No, this is an artist-only competition. They submit samples of their work, then the top ten are selected by a panel of judges and for the rest of the rounds they are given assigments to draw and the results are voted on. Daniel was selected for the top 10 from an initial pool of 180
entrants!
